NRA Defensive Pistol (Course Description)
The NRA Defensive Pistol Course is an instructor led training program designed to teach students the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence for personal protection. This course emphasizes safe firearm handling, sound judgment, and the development of a defensive mindset appropriate for real world concealed carry situations.
The course is suitable for individuals who already possess basic pistol handling skills and are seeking focused instruction on defensive pistol concepts. Training is conducted by a NRA Certified Instructor and may include both classroom instruction and practical exercises, allowing students to build understanding and confidence through guided instruction.
Course Format and Instruction
The NRA Defensive Pistol Course focuses on the mental, physical, and practical aspects of defensive pistol use. Classroom instruction addresses legal, ethical, and safety considerations, while practical exercises reinforce proper techniques and decision making related to concealed carry. Student Materials and Certification
